At Clanton-Malphus-Hodges, your pet is enlisted into our Senior Wellness Program at the age of 7. We recommend that Senior patients receive semi-yearly examinations and comprehensive blood/urine evaluations annually. As the Senior patient ages, diabetes, kidney disease, thyroid and many other problems arise that might not be visible to the naked eye.
The Senior diagnostic profile includes: CBC, Chemistry, Urinalysis, and Thyroid. These tests help us to monitor your pet's health and improve your pet's quality of life.
K-Laser is an FDA cleared therapeutic treatment that manages pain and inflammation while accelerating tissue regeneration. Laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasm, stiffness and pain.
We've added K-Laser therapy to our practice because we want to provide an effective and safe treatment option for our patients to heal quickly, recover fully and reduce pain effectively.

Regular professonal dental cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s health and teeth. Our dental technicians use ultrasonic scaling to clean the teeth thoroughly. The teeth are also polished to create a smooth surface. During the dental prophylaxis, the patient is monitored by an anesthesia assistant. The blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and temperature are also monitored throughout the procedure.
We apply Ora-Vet sealant after the dental cleaning to help the teeth become more resistant to plaque. We also recommend brushing the teeth on a daily basis to control tarter buildup.
Our hospital has digital radiology equipment that is state-of-the-art. Our technicians are highly skilled in performing X-ray imaging. We offer OFA studies.
Our Hospital has an on site ultrasound unit which is a noninvasive, painless procedure that helps us in diagnosing diseases in the abdominal area and heart. With this device we can perform abdominocentesis to diagnosis tumors in the abdomen and also diagnosis a pregnancy usually at the 30th day of gestation.

When it's time to say goodbye to your pet, let us make it easier. We offer counseling to pet owners who might need advice on quality of life issues. Our compassionate staff will help make you feel at home when that time comes. We give all of our clients and patients the utmost care and respect. If you prefer to keep your pet at home to say goodbye, house calls are also available.

The surgery suite is equipped with a heated surgery table, electrocardiogram, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, respiratory, and temperature monitors to ensure your pet is monitored throughout the entire procedure until he/she has reached full recovery.
The surgery suite is also equipped with a CO2 Laser to allow us to perform surgery that results in less pain and blood loss. The laser is used during feline declaws, mole/wart removal, soft palate resections, entropion eye surgeries, anal gland removal and tonsilectomies.
To help evaluate your patient’s health, we perform blood work before any anesthetic procedure. This is done to ensure that your pet doesn't have any underlying health issues that might complicate the surgical procedure.
Our hospital’s in-house Idexx laboratory is capable of running many tests while the patient is present in the hospital. This assists our veterinarians more quickly diagnose your patient. Our n-house tests include CBC, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Pancreatic Lipase, Bile Acids and many other routine tests. Our technicians are also well trained to perform routine ear cytology and skin scrapes.

Emergencies can occur at any time. Our hospital has an veterinarian on-call for after hours emergencies, 7 days a week and on holidays. When emergencies occur during regular business hours, please call ahead to inform the hospital staff of your pending arrival.
Some pets require special food, but all pets benefit from a balanced diet. We stock a complete line of Hill's Science Diet and Prescription Diet pet food. If your pet requires a certain specialty diet that we do not have in stock, we will be more than happy to order it for you. Our prescription diets are used for a wide variety of conditions including; sensitive skin, sensitive stomach, intestinal problems, kidney function bladder stones.
We offer various surgical procedures for fracture repair that include plating, external fixture and intramedullary pins. Other orthopedic surgeries include : tightrope procedures, patella and cranial cruciate repair.
